The solitude evokes the unconscious, embodied by statuesque, faceless bodies. The disproportion between them and the landscapes also conveys the complexity of the relationship between what we perceive and what is actually present, and the way in which this tension shapes our identity and our way of being in the world, even when we attempt to resist it.
Stepping outside oneself, going beyond one’s own perception in order to observe it from the outside, as if in a dream, and thereby coming as close as possible to a form of inner truth, in a process of deconstructing the condition that we believe to be fixed and predetermined.
